Alright, I admit it. I was the one to complain about an inundation of music, but I think I can fairly say I’m ready for another hit. Music Thursday was a nice constant, even if it felt a bit excessive at times. I put a track by a band named Beirut on a cd for J.E. a while back. They have a new one out that I’ve been enjoying called The Flying Club Cup. Maybe a track or two from that would be nice to post. It is, though, a mood album so it might be nice for some of you to hear the whole thing. It has some great instrumentation, though people tend to love or hate his voice. Anyway, Toby, when you feel fully appreciated again… feel free to do the honors. Thanks.

One of the most innovative jazz musicians who recorded with Miles Davis on the Birth of the Cool died today. There’s an article in the NY Times online today.

I hope everyone had a great, safe, and relaxing Fourth of July.  And I hope at least one of us of won a prize in the Boat Parade.

Good afternoon everyone in Hollow Land…I’m back this week with some music selections I have enjoyed in the time away and, in turn, thought you might like.

I apologize about the lack of posts lately, time seems to be more chaotic of late.  I struggle with the right balance of life, leisure, and discipline.  Honestly, I’ve had time to respond on these electronic pages of mirth but have chosen to do other things instead.  Lately, I’ve just been feeling in the mood to get back to the blog so hopefully I’ll keep up the desire to add to our great and ongoing conversation.

On to the music!  Hope the absence hasn’t let anybody down!
