Thanks for this. It is a great way for me to start my Friday. Sara has been a bit down lately, which naturally concerns me. So anything helps. Hope allis well with your new family. James and Sarah and John are visiting us this weekend.

Good weekend. Enjoy the northern fall.
The weather IS beautiful. Essential northern fall. We went to the famrer’s market to day. Butternut squash soup, with local cheese, bread, and apples for applecrisp. Thnks for the words, Jeff.
Safe from the armed gunman.
It’s a strange thing. Since he hurt no one but himself many people are able to focus more on the tragedy of the gunman’s death. I heard yesterday that as he climbed to the 6th floor with his AK-47 he said “excuse me” to those he passed.

Ned, hope you have a good weekend with your siblings and in-laws. Enjoy the beautiful fall weather and hope it makes you feel cozy with warm apple crisp in a bowl/plate. J.E., that’s a heart-wrenching story. It’s funny (not ha-ha funny) how it could have been a much different story in collective hearts and minds if he had killed others. Again, life is complicated and somehow to make sense of it all, we need to generalize on some occasions. Hope the twins are eating well from the ol’ umbilicals.
