Love her? Hate her? I don’t care. This is a fine video.

I forgot to mention this, but a company I created a logo for was featured on the nightly news in Minnesota recently. I was proud to see my work out there. Click the link below to see the newscast.
Michael Pritzl is going to be playing in Eau Claire tonight. He’s one of my favorite rock and rollers — and one of the few I’ve been listening to since high school.  This is his Christmas tour, and he’ll be playing some of my favorites (less rock and roll, more festive). Go to the link above to hear some of the songs and find out more about the tour. If you can, listen to “Room In My Heart” on the MySpace page.
Ned, he may not be your cup of tea, but if you and Sara have a free night you should go see him. If you do, pass him a note to bring to Kansas City…he’ll be here on Saturday. I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it or not.
This week’s picks for Music Thursday come from a band out of Copenhagen (Mew) and a cover of a Spoon song by Rock Kills Kid. I’ve been listening to some of RKK and been a fan of what I’ve heard so far, but this rendition of Turn My Camera On is fantastic. I don’t even like the original that much….
As reluctant as I was to assume the role of Sunday school teacher, I’m finding it quite insightful. One of the kids, Eric Humphreys, seems to have similar taste in music to you, Toby, insisting that I listen to Sufjan Stevens (sp?) and Post War on his ipod. Anyway, one of the things we did talk about was consumerism, and we visited a site called Adbusters. Many of you may be familiar with this site, www.adbusters.org, an anti-consumerism/advertising site. They instigated the “Buy Nothing Day” holiday on November, 24th this year (obviously, it is a holiday that changes dates). I’m glad to say that I participated in it this year. They also have films and links to buy environmetally friendly, organic, or fair trade products. If you don’t know it, it’s kind of funny.
Here’s a couple of bonus videos from a band that I have been listening to this week. The band is called Royksopp, they’re from Norway. They’re a little disco and remind me a bit of a cross between Sigur Ros and Gorillaz. Hmmm, maybe not quite…but they do remind me of someone, but I can’t quite put my finger on it.
Make of my words what you will, but I think you’ll enjoy the videos. I think “Remind Me” is really great. The video really seems to bend the lyrics into a plaintive cry to the visualized Infographics, Banality, and Symbolics in the video to yield True Existence.Â
Maybe.Â
You’re tired of me…on to the videos! The additional videos occur after the jump.
