I don’t know that all of you have any history with this band, though most of you received an Irish cd at some point with some of their music on it. Their latest album is a series of slower, more sombre tunes, but their musicianship still shines. I thought the video was kind of pretty too.

I found them thanks to video below, one of the most endearing YouTube videos I’ve seen in a long time…. Hope I’m not overselling it.

I thought I’d feature some music that I’ve discovered lately from each of our cities. Peters may have to settle for Lawrence — I ‘m not sure if Lindsborg is churning out new music. So I found this band called Now, Now (formerly Now, Now Every Children) and like their music quite a bit…catchy and light. Hope you guys are in the mood for some of that today. If you like these tracks, I recommend checking out some more of their wares.

So, I didn’t think anyone could do Peter as well as Peter could, but Bon Iver comes close. I realize in this rendition how much of a “big indie” Gabriel is. Bon Iver keeps the things that make this magnificient, and adds a texture all of his own. It builds, I like that.

Also, with Track #2, I realize how much I love Feist’s voice. You can find out more about the Record Club (it’s a talented group of folks) here.

It’s not Thursday, but I’ve been meaning to post this for about a month.

I heard the following interview and performance with Patrick Watson and the Wooden Arms on NPR in early December. It was a fantastic piece, but for some reason I thought it would totally be up Ned’s Alley. Not that I’m all that interested in Ned’s Alley…if he enjoys this I’ll be happy.

I’ve been listening to their album Wooden Arms and been liking it quite a bit. If it would have come out sooner in the year, it might have made my Decade’s Top Ten or So.

This one’s for you, Ned.
